Fox has been very busy ordering pilots the week after the network announced that it was disregarding the pilot game.
The network has placed a six-episode series order for “Weird Loners” from Michael Weithorn and 20th Century Fox Television. “Weird Loners” is the story of four relationship-phobic people who are unexpectedly thrust into each other’s lives and form an unlikely bond in a Queens, New York, townhouse. It is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and written by Michael Weithorn. Jake Kasdan and Weithorn executive produce.
Fox has also ordered the below three comedy pilots. They join fall orders “Fatrick” and “Cabot College.”

1. A currently untitled Ricky Blitt comedy revolves around a mom who has been single for two decades and traumatizes her stunted 30-something son with a little surprise — she just got married and her new husband and his three teenage children are about to move in. Wonder Monkey and Candy Bar Productions will produce in association with Warner Bros. Television. Blitt will write and executive produce. Johnny Galecki and Stephen McPherson will also exec produce.
2. “Sober Companion” is a series from CBS Television Studios about a charming, but self-destructive attorney who finds his world turned upside down when a court-appointed — and highly unconventional — sober companion takes control of his life.

3. “Dead Boss” is a project from Warner Bros./Kapital Entertainment, written and exec produced by Patricia Breen. Aaron Kaplan, Sharon Horgan, Holly Walsh will executive produce as well. Based on the British series, “Dead Boss” is a comedic mystery that finds overachiever Helen Stephens wrongfully convicted of murdering her boss and forced to rely on her train wreck of a sister to prove her innocence.
Fox’s previous series order for “Mulaney” is now in production.
Last Monday, at Fox’s Television Critics Association winter press tour, entertainment chief Kevin Reilly announced that his network was exiting the traditional pilot season game in favor of more ordering flexibility year-round.
