Fox has picked up “The Passage,” the network said Tuesday.
The one-hour drama, based on Justin Cronin’s trilogy of the same name, is described as a thriller that follows a secret government medical facility experimenting with a dangerous virus. The series focuses on 10-year-old Amy Bellafonte, who is selected as a test subject for the virus, which could either cure all diseases or destroy humanity. Federal agent Brad Wolgast tries to protect her as her surrogate father.
Mark‐Paul Gosselaar will star as Brad Wolgast, Saniyya Sidney as Amy Bellafonte, with Vincent Piazza as Clark Richards, Brianne Howey as Shauna Babcock, Jamie McShane as Dr. Tim Fanning, Caroline Chikezie as Dr. Major Nichole Sykes and Emmanuelle Chriqui as Dr. Lila Kyle.
Elizabeth Heldens serves as writer and executive producer along with Matt Reeves, Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker and Adam Kassan. Jason Ensler Marcos Siega will direct.
