Fox Searchlight has moved up the release date of "The Sessions," Ben Lewin's film starring John Hawke and Helen Hunt, to Oct. 19, the studio announced on Friday.
The film — formerly titled "The Surrogates" — was originally scheduled to open Oct. 28.

It screened at the Toronto International Film Festival to largely positive reviews earlier this month.
“The Sessions" is based on the autobiographical work of California journalist and poet Mark O'Brien, who lived most of his life in an iron lung, and at 38 decided he wanted to lose his virginity.
Fox Searchlight acquired the rights to the film at Sundance.
