Gottlieb, who's been with Fox Sports since 2004, was promoted from his post as senior vice president and head of marketing. In that position, he not only developed Fox Sports 1's marketing campaign but also created the on-air look for the campaign.

"We appointed Robert head of marketing with every confidence that he would maintain the high level of creative excellence that has been a Fox Sports trademark since 1994, elevating our linear and digital assets to new heights," the company's co-president and COO Randy Freer said in a statement. "The marketing campaign for the launch of Fox Sports 1 Robert developed and implemented with his team over the last several months was nothing short of brilliant, helping establish a clear brand identity in a very crowded marketplace."

Declaring himself "very grateful" for the "extraordinary opportunity," Gottlieb added,
"Working on the launch of Fox Sports 1 was the creative challenge of a lifetime. I’m fortunate to be surrounded by a tremendously talented staff, who gave everything they had throughout the process. Months ago we set out to establish the brand position that Fox Sports 1 would be the network to make sports fun again, and I have no doubt that we achieved that goal."
