Fox to Launch Dubai Theme Park Featuring ‘Titanic,’ ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Attractions

Media giant partners with Al Ahli Holding Group for licensed resort

Fox and Al Ahli Holding Group are partnering on a theme park and resort based on the media conglomerate’s various film and television properties, the companies announced on Tuesday.

The park will feature areas, rides and other attractions inspired by the movies “Ice Age,” “Rio,” “Planet of the Apes,” “Aliens,” “Predator,” “Night at the Museum” and “Titanic,” as well as TV series like “The Simpsons” and “Sons of Anarchy.”

“20th Century Fox World, Dubai is the second Fox theme park destination and marks an important step forward in our global theme park strategy,” Jeffrey Godsick, President of Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products said. “Fox World will be a world-class destination that will help fuel Dubai’s emergence as a global tourism destination.”

The theme park joins 20th Century Fox World Malaysia, which was initially slated for a late-2016 opening, but is now scheduled to debut in 2017 as a result of the island nation’s slumping currency. The resort portion of 20th Century Fox World, Dubai resort is a first for Fox, offering themed rooms and dining options.

The deal leaves open the possibility of up to three additional Fox-branded resorts in locales to be determined. 20th Century Fox World, Dubai is scheduled to open in 2018.
