“Switched at Birth” will end after five seasons, showrunner Lizzy Weiss announced Friday.
“This season of #SwitchedatBirth will be our final one,” she said on Twitter. “We are ending the show after an amazing 103 episodes with pride, love, and gratitude.”
The Freeform series chronicles the lives of two families brought together when they discover that their daughters — one deaf, one hearing — were swapped by the hospital at birth.
The Peabody Award-winning series is executive-produced by Lizzy Weiss (“Blue Crush”), Paul Stupin (“Dawson’s Creek,” “Make It or Break It”) and Linda Gase (“ER,” “Army Wives”).
Katie Leclerc, Vanessa Marano, Constance Marie, D.W. Moffett, Lea Thompson, Lucas Grabeel and Sean Berdy star, with Marlee Matlin as a recurring guest.
