‘Fuller House’ to Explain Away Michelle Tanner’s Absence in Ironic Fashion

Olsen Twins will get a bit of a taste of their own medicine — and a prank call — on Netflix revival

“Fuller House” needed to address the elephant in the room of no Michelle Tanner, and now we know exactly how the Netflix revival will do it.

Characters on the “Full House” update will mention that Michelle — previously played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen — is now living in New York City and working on creating her fashion empire, per Us Weekly. In other words, you know, exactly like the Olsen Twins in real life. Mary-Kate and Ashley  run fashion lines The Row and Elizabeth and James.

It goes a bit farther from there. One “Fuller House” episode will features the series’ characters prank-calling Michelle by saying, “You got it, dude!”

For those who weren’t kids or teens in the ’90s, that was the youngest “Full House” character’s cute catchphrase.

“Fuller House,” which has a 13-episode order, centers on D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure), who is recently widowed and raising three sons. Her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy (Andrea Barber) move into her San Francisco home to help raise the kids.

Bob Saget, John StamosLori Loughlin, and Dave Coulier are also returning for the 2016 Netflix reunion.

The streaming giant’s content chief Ted Sarandos originally said that the Olsen twins were “teetering” on joining the project, though, in hindsight, it doesn’t seem like they were ever really considering it.
