Fullscreen has named Jason Klarman its new chief marketing officer, the company announced Monday.

Klarman will head marketing strategy and operations across Fullscreen’s business. He will report to company founder and CEO George Strompolos.

He is the first chief marketing officer in the history of Fullscreen, which was founded in 2011.

“Jason has a track record of connecting brands with passionate audiences who push the culture forward,” Strompolos said in a statement. “He’s defined brands at the forefront of the media business, and as Fullscreen evolves into a consumer-facing media company, there’s no one more qualified at the helm.”

Klarman most recently served as president of consulting firm Hashtag Global Media. Prior to his time at Hashtag, Klarman was president of Oxygen Media. Previous stints include Bravo, Trio and Fox News Channel.

Otter Media, a joint venture of AT&T and the Chernin Group, purchased digital content company Fullscreen in 2014 in a deal valued between $200 and $300 million.
