Fusion Names Ryan Nerz Chief Cannabis Correspondent, Orders ‘Cannabusiness Report’ Specials

Latino-themed cable news network orders series of primetime specials on the business of marijuana

Ryan Nerz has landed a smokin’ new job at Fusion.

The author and journalist has been named the cable news network’s Chief Cannabis Correspondent. As part of the gig, Nerz will host a series of half-hour primetime specials titled “The Cannabusiness Report.”

“Marijuana legalization is an issue that is taking on increasing relevance – politically, economically and culturally – and requires the kind of coverage that only someone with Ryan’s expertise can deliver,” said Fusion CEO Isaac Lee in a statement.

He continued, “Ryan’s reporting is a great example of how Fusion is uniquely capable of providing news, information, and opinion on topics that matter to millennials, especially in situations where the mainstream media can’t keep up.”

“The Cannabusiness Report” was developed from segments of the same name featuring Nerz during Fusion’s “The Morning Show.”

Nerz has previously written for NPR, Esquire, and the History Channel. He has also written two books: “MARIJUANAMERICA” and “Eat This Book.”
