FX Lands J.J. Abrams’ Sci-Fi Blockbuster ‘Super 8’

The cable network acquired the commercial television rights to air the J.J. Abrams-Steven Spielberg flick

"Super 8" won the box office draw in its first weekend of release. Now it has won a TV home, on the cable network FX.

The "Justified" airer has acquired the commercial television rights to the sci-fi movie, which was directed by "Lost" creator J.J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg. The film will hit the station sometime in late 2013 or early 2014.

"Super 8" revolves around a group of children who discover a freakish creature that escapes from a train while they are shooting a super-8 movie nearby. Elle Fanning and Kyle Chandler star.
