Gabrielle Union revealed her inner geek on “The Tonight Show” Monday as she played the role of a high school vice principal in a video skit alongside Jimmy Fallon.
Wearing oversized glasses and a high-buttoned blouse, the actress and the late-night host revealed that they had been voted the “most entertaining and musical” morning-announcement duo in the area.
“We like to take popular songs and put our Saugerties High spin on them,” Union’s character said.
Announcements regarding the cheerleading squad, the banning of smartphones and social media, or chatting in class were read out to the tune of hit songs by Rihanna, The Weeknd and Walk the Moon to spice things up.
Fittingly, the only student who hadn’t “paid his field trip money” went by the name of Mitch Henderson, sparking the passionate Rihanna parody song “Mitch, Better Have My Money.”
Union played Chris Rock‘s fiancée in “Top Five” and co-starred in last year’s box office hit “Think Like a Man Too.” She currently stars on the BET series “Being Mary Jane” and will soon begin filming Nate Parker’s “The Birth of a Nation” with Armie Hammer.
