Nonso Anozie is relocating from Qarth to Botswana.

Anozie, who played powerful merchant Xaro Xhoan Daxos on HBO’s fantasy series “Game of Thrones,” has signed on for CBS’s upcoming drama series “Zoo,” a CBS representative told TheWrap.

The series, which is based on the James Patterson novel and is slated to premiere in summer 2015, is described as a global thriller about a wave of violent animal attacks against humans across the planet. As the assaults become more cunning, coordinated and ferocious, a young renegade biologist is thrust into the race to unlock the pandemic’s mystery before there’s no place left for people to hide.

In a series regular role, Anozie will play Abraham, a Botswanan safari tour guide with a deep understanding of wildlife, and an even deeper empathy for the struggles of humanity.

The cast also includes James Wolk, who’ll play Jackson Oz, the renegade biologist, and Nora Arnezeder (“Xanadu”) as Chloe.

Brad Anderson (“The Machinist”) is directing “Zoo,” with James Mangold, Cathy Konrad, Patterson, Bill Robinson, Leopoldo Gout, Steve Bowen, Jeff Pinkner, Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg executive producing.

“Zoo” is being produced by CBS Television Studios.

Paradigm represents Anozie.

THR first reported on Anozie’s casting.
