HBO series’ traumatized fan base girds itself for show’s last drops of murder and mayhem — until Season 6

After a traumatic episode of “Game of Thrones” last weekend, in which an epic sacrifice again set the Internet ablaze with sorrow and outrage, the Season 5 finale arrives on Sunday titled “Mother’s Mercy.”

Fans are hoping for a little mercy in this season of death, violence and controversy.
