HBO released the first, albeit brief, look at season six of “Game of Thrones” in a larger preview of the shows coming to the premium cable network in 2016.

First up, we see Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) looking worn and tattered. Fans of the show will remember that in the end of Season 5, the ruler of Meereen was flown far away by her dragon Drogon after an uprising, only to land and be surrounded by a massive horde of Dothraki.

Next up, we see Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon), the latest person everyone loves to hate on the series, riding atop his horse ahead of some Bolton bannermen.

In season five, Ramsay helped his father destroy what was left of Stannis’ (Stephen Dillane) army, solidifying their hold on The North. He also made a habit of sexually assaulting and tormenting Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), which didn’t win him any fans, either.

Finally, we get a quick look at Cersei (Lena Headey) still sporting her closely cropped new hair do and embracing her son, King Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman).

Cersei spent much of Season 5 being held prisoner by the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce), a religious leader that she herself put in power. He let her go only when she confessed to her affair with her twin brother Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).

Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” will premiere in April 2016 on HBO.
