‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Premiere Reactions: ‘Epic,’ ‘Fantastic,’ ‘Awesome’

Here’s what fans have to look forward to April 24

As you may have guessed, the new season of “Game of Thrones” is “off to a GREAT start,” according to attendees who also call the first episode “awesome” and “epic.”

The sixth season of “Game of Thrones” premiered last night in Los Angeles, and the first reactions are in. The showing at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood will be the only showing of the episode before its HBO premiere April 24. HBO asked people not reveal spoilers, not that we would have.

“I swear by the old gods and the new that the first ep of#GameofThrones Season 6 was fantastic,” wrote TheWrap’s Tim Molloy, who elaborated here.

The sixth season of the hit HBO series has been highly anticipated since the last episode of season 5 left fans wondering what would happen to Kit Harington‘s character, Jon Snow, as well as whether Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Theon (Alfie Allen) would survive the jump from the castle walls.

Since the finale, cast members like Emilia Clarke have been teasing Jon Snow’s fate, while Harington himself finally disclosed last week that Jon will not become a White Walker.
