‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8, Episode 4 Preview: The Great War Is Won, But the Last One Has Just Begun (Video)

You didn’t think the Battle of Winterfell was the end, did you?

(Warning: This post contains spoilers from Sunday’s “Game of Thrones”)

Now that the Battle of Winterfell has been won, thanks in large part to Arya Stark, the real work can begin: killing Cersei Lannister.

In a 40-second preview for Episode 804 of “Game of Thrones,” we see Daenerys and Jon Snow’s forces preparing for the “last war,” which isn’t against the Night King (who was taken out by Arya during tonight’s 1-hour, 22-minute siege at the Starks’ ancestral home in the North) but the lion down in King’s Landing.

“We have won the great war,” Daenerys says to the team at Winterfell, with Missandei and Varys at her side. “Now we will win the last one.” In another shot, the Mother of Dragons raises her glass in front of a roaring fire in a room full of cheering followers before we hear her say in a voiceover, “We’ll rip her out, root and stem.”

The teaser also includes dragons flying, ships with dragon sigils sailing and lots of shots of Cersei and Euron Greyjoy looking really cocky about their current positioning to the Iron Throne. But which queen will reign supreme in the end?

Watch the teaser above and read out coverage from tonight’s episode here and here.

“Game of Thrones” airs Sundays at 9/8c on HBO.
