HBO has released photos from Sunday’s episode of the eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones,” which show Cersei, Euron Greyjoy and the Golden Company preparing for battle at King’s Landing. Meanwhile, Jon Snow and Davos arrive with the Unsullied and Dothraki to try and help take the Iron Throne for Daenerys.
But based on these pictures, the sizes of the two armies allude to a possible win for the Lion Queen over the Mother of Dragons, as her forces look strong and prepared, and we all know the Battle of Winterfell took a lot out of Jon and Dany’s team.
The shots also tease the aftermath of Missandei’s execution at the hands of The Mountain on the most recent episode, “The Last of the Starks,” as Dany, Tyrion, and Grey Worm all look very distraught following her death.
And then there is one picture of Jon and Varys walking on the beach together that has us wondering if Varys is whispering in Jon’s ear about how Jon, the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, maybe shouldn’t be fighting for the Dragon Queen anymore.
