‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Trailer Promises a Massive War (Video)

Winter is finally here and the show is getting real

HBO released a new trailer for “Game of Thrones” Season 7 that teases the battles — both physical and mental — to come.

Because yes, winter is finally here. And on the first day of summer, nonetheless.

The trailer starts off with a voiceover from Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish (Aidan Gillen) as Sansa (Sophie Turner) walks slowly through the snow.

“Fight every battle, everywhere,” Baelish says. It’s almost a prophecy, as there are battles literally all throughout Westeros and beyond.

Over on Dragonstone we have Daenerys, who has finally left Essos after six seasons. And as we know, she’s prepping to finally take her throne with her Unsullied army, along with the Greyjoys and their massive navy. However, she’ll have to take it from Cersei, who blew up most of her rivals in the Season 5 finale.

Then there’s Arya, who’s finally arrived back in Westeros.

Meanwhile, everybody is fighting and everybody has an enemy. The dragons are hurling fireballs, the ravens are flying over the whitewalkers, and the Brotherhood Without Banners are finally back after being absent since Season 3. And they’ve brought along magic.

It’s hard to even count the number of battles that are raging in the trailer, but it promises an explosive and fiery season.

The hit series returns to HBO on Sunday, July 16 for a shortened, seven-episode season. There’s so much to look out for in this teaser, so watch it above.
