‘Game of Thrones’ Inspires Digital Games

HBO is teaming with Telltale Games

Fans of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” will be able to enter the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros on their mobile devices, computers and game consoles courtesy of a new partnership between Telltale Games and HBO.

The companies will release an episodic game series based on the fantasy series beginning in 2014.  The show is one of the cable giant’s most popular and is set in a mythical land where various combatants do battle for control of the Iron Throne.  There’s oodles of blood, palace intrigue and even dragons.

“This partnership will create an experience that will captivate the huge, global ‘Game of Throne’s audience,” Dan Connors, co-founder and CEO of Telltale Games, said in a statement.  “It will put them in control of the epic stories of warfare, intrigue, violence and revenge that we know and love.”

The fourth season of the show will premiere in Spring of 2014.

Telltale previously had success churning out a series of well-received games inspired by AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”
