Gaumont International Television Bolsters Executive Team

The production and distribution studio behind “Hannibal” renews its CEO’s contract, announces EVP hire and additional promotion

Gaumont International Television, the company behind “Hannibal” and “Hemlock Grove,” announced a contract renewal for its top executive, a new hire and a promotion.

Chief Executive Officer Katie O’Connell will continue overseeing the Los Angeles-based production and distribution studio after her contract was renewed, according to a company statement Monday.

Gaumont also hired Sam Semon as executive vice president of Business Operations. Semon joins GIT from FremantleMedia North America, where he served as vice president, Business & Legal Affairs. In the role, he provided business and legal counsel on series for CBS, Disney/ABC, Sony Pictures Television International and others.

The company also promoted Elisa Roth from head of creative affairs to president, Creative/Production.

European parent company Gaumont, formed in 1895, boasts a film library of over 900 titles.
