Albert Einstein didn’t just tackle the Theory of Relativity, he also took on the Nazis.
National Geographic Channel has released an extended trailer for its first scripted anthology series “Genius,” which follows Einstein from young to old over Season 1. The trailer, which was first shared Friday afternoon during the Television Critics Association press tour, opens on a young boy in Nazi garb asking the Jewish Einstein to autograph his Swastika flag. That would not be the inventor’s only run-in with Adolf Hitler’s party.
It wasn’t all bad, however — Albert did seem to be a hit with the ladies. You know what they say about a big brain…
“Genius” stars Geoffrey Rush, Johnny Flynn, and Emily Watson. Rush plays old Einstein, Flynn handles the duties from his youth.
The series hails from executive producers Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, who do a lot with the cable channel. Their “Mars” was renewed by Nat Geo this afternoon for a second season. Gigi Pritzker also produces this one.
