George Clooney Putting $125,000 Tesla on the Auction Block for Sudan’s Cause

George Clooney's 2008 Tesla "Signature 100" Roadster will be auctioned by Gooding & Co. on Aug. 18

George Clooney is putting his car where his mouth is.

The actor is auctioning off hs 2008 Tesla “Signature 100” Roadster, to aid victims of the crisis in the Sudan. 

Valued at $100,000-$125,000, the black metallic electric car — with two-tone leather interior and just 1,700 miles on the odometer — will be auctioned off by Gooding & Co. on Aug. 18.

The Roadster, the eighth of its kind produced by the electric car manufacturer, is among the slate of offerings Gooding's annual two-day Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event.

Proceeds from the sale of the Tesla will go to the Satellite Sentinel Project, a non-profit organization he co-founded with human rights activist John Prendergast that monitors the volatile Sudanese borders to prevent the recurrence of civil war between Northern and Southern Sudan.

“We’re the anti-genocide paparazzi,” Clooney is quoted as saying on the SSP’s website.

President and Founder David Gooding said in a statement.
