George Clooney, Hollywood’s Most Famous Bachelor, Is Finally Engaged

The infamously-single actor popped the question to British attorney Amal Alamuddin, according to People

In Hollywood, George Clooney being a bachelor used to be as sure a bet as late residual checks and interminable Oscar shows. But no more, apparently.

The A-list actor has popped the question to British human rights attorney Amal Alamuddin, according to People magazine, which cited a source with knowledge of the situation.

“George and Amal are trying to keep things very low-key but they also aren’t really trying to hide this, it doesn’t seem,” the source told People. “I think it’s like they want the people they love to know that this is real, that they plan on being together forever.”

The couple hasn’t yet set a date or make wedding plans, according to the source. Clooney’s representative didn’t respond to a request for comment Sunday, but earlier told People, “I don’t comment on my client’s personal life.”

Clooney was married once before, to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993, just prior to his joining the TV hit “ER.”

Since then he’s dated, among others, Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis and former WWE personality Stacy Keibler.

Keibler recently announced her marriage to businessman Jared Pobre and they are expecting their first child.
