“Ghosts” magic mirror writer Trevor will answer your questions this week as part of a special in-person and online event by CBS, TheWrap can report exclusively.

Fans in Santa Monica can visit the “Ghosts”-branded Victorian style mirror at the Third Street Promenade to pose questions to the ’90s financial bro ghost. The mirror will fog up, just like it does at Woodstone Mansion in the series, and the words Ask Me Anything” will appear on its surface. “Livings” can pose questions to the stock broker’s spirit on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 6 – 10 p.m. and on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 3 to 8 p.m. On Thursday, the digital version launches on Twitter (@GhostsCBS) and receive their own foggy mirror message from the beyond.

CBS Marketing Chief Mike Benson told TheWrap the promotion came out of an internal brainstorming session inspired by an episode in the first season where we learn about Trevor (Asher Grodman)’s ability is communicate with the mortal world.

“We partnered with an agency called 160over90 and they came up with the idea,” said Benson. “We wanted to organically tie the storyline to something that we could not only do in real life, but also in digital form as well. We thought, ‘What if we could create a mirror where the ghosts are actually communicating with the livings and so, it all spun out of trying to create something authentic to the specific episode.”

Benson shared that it works more or less like a Magic 8 Ball, but with far more answers. “We worked really closely with the executive producers and the writing team on the show to create a combination of responses for the types of questions that could potentially be asked,” he said.

At the Santa Monica installation and online, they’ll also be able to provide some live, custom answers, all delivered in Trevor’s voice. “We wanted the mirror to be authentic to the tone and the voice of the show,” said Benson. “The show writers [will be] connected to anyone who is communicating through the mirror so they can get a live response. We want millions of people to actually go use it and participate.”

And the team is prepared if someone asks a question that would get bleeped on the series. “It’s very similar to the way if you ask Siri or Alexa something risqué, they’ll give you a specific answer and we’ve come up with much of the same solutions,” he explained. They will also have Twitter moderators in place on Thursday to field questions as they come in.

And yes, they do anticipate that several fans will ask Trevor, “What happened to your pants?”

The Halloween episode, in which Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) hold a séance on Halloween and accidentally summon a ghost from Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky)’s past, airs Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. on CBS.
