It’s a “GMA” reunion on another show known by its initials: “AMHQ.”
On Friday, May 2, former “Good Morning America” colleagues Josh Elliott and Sam Champion will reunite for the first time live on air from the Kentucky Derby on the weatherman’s Weather Channel morning show, “AMHQ With Sam Champion.”
Elliott, who recently moved to NBC Sports, will join Sam at 9 a.m. from Churchill Downs, where they will have “a trip down memory lane and a discussion on Derby weather and cuisine,” according to a release.

The Derby will mark Elliott’s debut for NBC Sports. The big race takes place on Saturday; on Friday, the fillies hit the turf in the Kentucky Oaks.
Champion left ABC’s morning show in December for the Weather Channel. Elliott left “GMA” in March.
Also this weekend, “AMHQ” will continue its minute-to-minute tornado coverage with Maria LaRosa reporting from Mayflower, Alaska, Mike Bettes in Moore, Okla., and Anaridis Rodriguez at the Weather Channel headquarters in Atlanta.
