‘Gold Rush’ Season Finale: Teams Dig Deep for One Final Dig (Exclusive Video)

Down just 300 ounces, can Todd catch up to Parker? Is Tony even going to make money this season?

“Gold Rush” has hit pay dirt time and time again for Discovery Channel, but the cable net’s only got one more episode this season with which to cash in.

On Friday, a new King of the Klondike will be crowned to close out this run of Discovery’s top-rated show. Beyond dominating its own airwaves, “Gold Rush” also happens to be Friday night’s No. 1 non-sports cable telecast for 18 consecutive weeks now.

In this final race for gold, Todd runs two massive washplants — an effort to close the 300-ounce gap that favors rival Parker. Meanwhile, Tony pushes to get his dredge out of the water before it freezes, and Grandpa John comes to see if Parker has beaten his rival Todd.

In the clip above, which is exclusive to TheWrap, the three team captains recap the ups and downs of their seasons, as they prepare for one final panhandling push. Only one man will be champion, and that crown will be made from more than 3,000 ounces of gold.

Watch the video above.

Talk show “The Dirt” airs Friday at 8 p.m. ET. The two-hour “Gold Rush” finale follows at 9.
