The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has revealed the timetable for the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, which will air live on NBC on Jan. 8.
Nominations will be announced on Dec. 12.
The Golden Globes, produced by Dick Clark Productions in association with the HFPA, are viewed in more than 236 countries worldwide. This year, they will be held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
The deadline for submissions in the Motion Picture and Television categories is Oct. 31.
In April, the HFPA also announced a new set of rules changes regarding Golden Globes eligibility. Most significantly, the distinction between comedy and drama has been further refined following this year’s controversy surrounding “The Martian’s” comedy win.
“Motion pictures shall be entered in the category that best matches the overall tone and content of the motion picture. Thus, for example, dramas with comedic overtones should be entered as dramas,” reads the new guideline.
The changes also affect some of the guidelines regarding the rules surrounding campaigning and advertising.
