‘Good Morning America’ Scores Top Total Viewership for 52 Straight Weeks

"GMA" celebrates longest viewership streak in more than 20 years

"Good Morning America" reached quite the milestone last week.

ABC's morning show drew the week's top total viewership among its competition for the week of Aug. 12, marking the 52nd consecutive week — a solid year — that it's come in first in total viewers.

The year-long stay at the top is the longest running streak for "Good Morning America" since the 1991-1992 season.

All told for the week, "GMA" bested NBC morning show "Today" by 808,000 total viewers.

"Good Morning America" also topped the competition in the key 25-54 news demo for the week, beating out "Today" by 199,000 viewers in the demo.

ABC's morning show averaged 5.078 million total viewers last week, compared to 4.270 million for "Today" and 1.356 million for "CBS This Morning."

In the demo, "Good Morning America" averaged 1.902 million total viewers, versus 1.703 million for "Today" and 1.356 million for "CBS This Morning."

Season to date, "Good Morning America" holds first place in total viewers and the 25-54 demo. For the week of Aug. 12, the morning show improved 9 percent in both total viewers and the key demo compared to a year ago.
