Before Batman can rise, Gotham City must burn, as the future nemeses of the Dark Knight bring the city to its knees in the New York Comic-Con trailer for the final season of “Gotham” released Sunday.
In the final season, which will air on Fox in early 2019, many of the show’s most devious foes will return, including The Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Zsasz and Hugo Strange. Fans will also see Shane West joining the cast as Bane, who, as the show’s writers revealed at NYCC, will impact Bruce Wayne’s life in a major way.
And, of course, at the center of it all will be the Joker, as he detonates bombs all around Gotham that leave the city a lawless, gang-ruled wasteland. Amidst this horror, Bruce Wayne will rise to become Batman, with the legendary superhero’s debut taking place in the series finale.
