If it’s true that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Beyonce needs to give a bear hug to “Grey’s Anatomy” star Camilla Luddington, who is expecting her first child with actor Matthew Alan.
With the help of her “Grey’s” costar Ellen Pompeo, first time mama-to-be Luddington attempted to re-create Queen Bey’s Instagram announcement that received 6.4 million likes and over 339,000 comments.
With Luddington donning a red bra and blue panties — just like the “Crazy in Love” singer — Pompeo directed the photo shoot and encouraged her subject to get into character. “This is amazing. You’re pregnant at the same time as Beyonce,” Pompeo told Luddington, “When is that ever going to happen again, Camilla?”
Luddington struck a pose and, holding her baby bump ala Beyonce, grudgingly said, “I just feel a little bit weird. Don’t you think you’re taking this directing thing too far?”
Pompeo sure didn’t think so. “No you look amazing. You’re glowing. Isn’t she glowing?” she asked those standing by. All quickly agreed. “OK. Veil,” Pompeo ordered. Tossing the black tulle over Luddington’s head, Pompeo cheered, “Amazing! Great! I love it!”
And Luddington? It didn’t look as if she was lovin’ it so much.
