ABC’s first teaser for the 11th season of “Grey’s Anatomy” doesn’t paint a pretty picture for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey).
As we saw during the Season 10 finale, Meredith decided she wouldn’t move to Washington D.C. with husband Derek, where he has a new job waiting for him.

Meredith won’t have best friend Cristina to turn to during this marriage hurdle, however, but she does have her words from the Season 10 finale in which she told Meredith that she didn’t have to go.
“He’s very dreamy,” Cristina said philosophically. “But he’s not the sun. You are.”

So, Meredith said she wouldn’t go — and now the fallout looks bleak. “I just don’t know if my marriage can survive this,” she reveals ominously in the teaser.
April (Sarah Drew) also tells Jackson (Jesse Williams) that Derek is “dying inside.”
