Facebook Celebrates 10th Birthday With ‘A Look Back,’ 10 Fun Facts

In celebration of the milestone, users can see a personalized movie or collection of photos with their biggest moments since joining the site

Happy 10th Birthday Facebook! You don’t look a day over nine.

The social networking site — which turned 10 Tuesday — went live Feb. 4, 2004 in founder Mark Zuckerberg’s Harvard University dorm room. Presently, it has more than 1.2 billion monthly active users.

To celebrate, Facebook launched its “A Look Back” product on Tuesday, which enables users on Facebook to see a personalized movie or collection of photos with their biggest moments since they joined the service.

“It’s been an incredible journey so far, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it,” Zuckerberg said in a statement. “It’s been amazing to see how people have used Facebook to build a real community and help each other in so many ways. In the next decade, we have the opportunity and responsibility to connect everyone and to keep serving the community as best we can.”
