Anna Kendrick plays a woman in desperate need of growing up in the new trailer for Joe Swanberg‘s dramedy “Happy Christmas,” which debuted Tuesday.
The Magnolia Pictures film features Kendrick as Jenny, a woman without direction who decides to move to Chicago after a rough breakup with her boyfriend. She moves in with her filmmaker brother Jeff (Swanberg), his wife Kelly (Melanie Lynskey) and their new baby. Jenny’s hard-partying ways are in stark contrast with Jeff and Kelly’s quiet and responsible domestic life.

Together with help from her friend Carson (Lena Dunham), Jenny tries to find a sense of purpose during the holiday season. “Happy Christmas” also stars Mark Webber as Jeff and Kelly’s babysitter/pot dealer and Jenny’s new boyfriend.
The film will be available on VOD on June 26 and will arrive in theaters July 25.
