‘Happy Death Day 2U’ Trailer: Jessica Rothe Is Stuck Reliving Her Murder Again (Video)

“This time, it’s coming after all of us,” Rothe says in the trailer for Blumhouse horror film

Jessica Rothe is back for “Happy Death Day 2U,” a sequel to the horror movie “Happy Death Day” in which she played a woman caught in a time loop reliving the day of her death over and over again until she foiled her murderer.

Now she’s caught in a time loop…again. “This time, it’s coming after all of us,” Rothe says in the trailer for the film from Blumhouse.

Rothe’s character, Tree Gelbman, finds that she’s been living her best life since breaking out of the time loop, only to get looped back in when she realizes that one of her friends is also caught in a similar situation. But Gelbman soon realizes that she’s now pursued by multiple copycat killers who wear the same baby face mask as her original killer, and she has to figure out how to end the loop for everyone.

Israel Broussard and Ruby Modine also return to the cast of “Happy Death Day 2U,” and the original’s director, Christopher Landon, wrote the sequel’s screenplay in addition to directing.

The original film grossed $122.6 million worldwide on a budget of just $4.8 million. Universal is releasing the sequel on Valentine’s Day 2019. Watch the first trailer above.
