The Harry Potter book series may have wrapped a few years ago, but on Thursday author J.K. Rowling offered fans a little something to salivate about.
The author's new website about Harry, Hogwarts and all things Potter, was announced Thursday. Entitled Pottermore, the site is not officially open yet, it's already so popular, it can't handle all the people trying to sign on.
"In a short while, you will be able to leave your email address, so we can notify you when registration has opened," a message on the site reads. "Due to overwhelming demand we cannot take your email address right now. Please be patient."
The site will be a place for Rowling to sell more stuff: digital audio books and, for the first time, Harry Potter e-books.
Pottermore officially opens in October, but its users can see a preview now. On the site, Rowling appears on video.
In it, she promises that she "will be sharing additional information I’ve been hoarding for years about the world of Harry Potter." She said that although the site won't open to everyone until October, "a lucky few can enter early and help shape the experience."
