As part of Universal Studios’ already-announced plan to roll out the “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” at its Hollywood location, the theme park revealed plans on Tuesday to build its first outdoor roller coaster, “Flight of the Hippogriff.”

In addition, the Hollywood theme park launching next spring will include the flight simulation attraction “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.”

Unlike at Universal Studios Orlando, which debuted in 2010, guests will experience the simulation in 3D using Quidditch-inspired goggles.

“Harry Potter is an exhilarating multi-generational global phenomenon that has captivated the world’s attention across every one of its mediums, from books and movies to exhilarating statement.

“With its imminent arrival to The Entertainment Capital of L.A.,” he added, “Universal Studios Hollywood is thrilled to bring our guests a new, compelling experience of ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ as we embark on this next chapter in our storied history.”
