HBO is OK being "Bored to Death" for another year.
The network has given an early renewal to its Jason Schwartzman-led comedy series, HBO confirmed via its Twitter feed Tuesday. The news comes as the series, which premiered just last month, earned its best ratings yet, thanks to a big boost from "Curb Your Enthusiasm."
Roughly 1.5 million viewers tuned in two showings of Sunday’s episode. Ratings for the first-run broadcast of the series were up over 50 percent vs. last week’s numbers.
HBO has renewed three first-year comedies in 2009: "Bored," "Hung" and "Eastbound and Down."
