HBO Releases ‘Ballers,’ ‘The Brink’ Premieres for Free on Facebook

“Ballers” star and executive producer Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is hosting the episode on his Facebook page with a special intro

HBO is offering free access to the premiere episodes of “Ballers” and “The Brink” on Facebook for a limited time.

For the first time, the premium cable network is making the episodes available starting on Wednesday. The shows debuted on June 21.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who serves as star and executive producer of “Ballers,” is hosting the premiere for his 49 million followers on Facebook. The video opens with a special intro by Johnson, filmed just after a training session.

“The Brink” is hosting its premiere for the 23,000 followers on its Facebook page.

HBO is making the episodes available on Facebook, HBO Now and HBO Go. YouTube, Vimeo and other third-party digital platforms will not have access to the content.

“Ballers” follows a group of former and current football players, showcasing their business endeavors and lifestyles. Stephen Levinson (“Entourage”) created the series, which is executive produced by Johnson, Stephen Levinson, Mark Wahlberg, Dany Garcia, Peter Berg, Evan Reilly, Rob Weiss, Julian Farino and Denis Biggs.

“The Brink” follows three different men — Secretary of State Walter Larson (Tim Robbins), Foreign Service officer Alex Talbot (Jack Black) and ace Navy fighter pilot Zeke Tilson (Pablo Schreiber) — amid a geopolitical crisis. Roberto and Kim Benabib created the series, which is executive produced by Jerry Weintraub, Roberto Benabib and Jay Roach.
