Hearst Promotes Jeffrey Hamill to VP of Sales, Marketing

Hearst puts Jeffrey Hamill, the former senior vice president of advertising sales and marketing, in charge of the whole division

Hearst Interactive Media promoted Jeffrey Hamill to executive vice president of sales and marketing, the company announced Thursday.

Hamill, a 30 year veteran at the Hearst Corporation, will oversee all group advertising sales, marketing efforts and corporate research for the company's 20 magazine brands.

"Jeff has been an incredible asset to Hearst for nearly 30 years and instrumental in helping us drive advertising revenue on the print and digital front from our largest clients," Michael A. Clinton, Hearst's publishing director and president of marketing, said in a statement. "He has a stellar reputation both inside and outside the company and promotion to EVP is well-deserved."

Hamill has served in his most recent position, as the senior vice president of advertising sales and marketing, since January 1988.

The Durham, N.C.-native rose through the ranks quickly. He joined Hearst Magazines a year out of college in 1982 as a promotion assistant at Popular Mechanics after completing the division's advertising sales training program. He later served as advertising director of Redbook and Cosmopolitan and as associate publisher of Good Housekeeping.

Hamill, who now lives in Darien, Conn., graduated from Washington & Lee University in 1981. He also serves on the operating committee of the Magazine Publishers Association and the Media Action committee of the Ad Club.
