Did “Superman” actor Henry Cavill just let slip a “Green Lantern” appearance in “Man of Steel 2?”

The actor is recovering from a knee injury and getting back into his training regimen. And, according to a new Instagram post by Supes, he is on a mission to get “bigger than Green Lantern.”

But this isn’t the first time Cavill has teased the arrival of Green Lantern, long before the Emerald Crusader’s solo adventure in 2020. Earlier this month, Cavill posted two new photos with the caption “Kal looking for Hal” and the hashtag #GreenLantern.

Cavill is most likely just having a bit of fun on Instagram and teasing fanboys. But we can’t ignore the fact that he has been consistent with his Green Lantern references, which suggests there’s some truth to his words.

As TheWrap exclusively reported last August, Superman is a top priority for the studio and getting the character right for audiences is of tantamount importance.

“X-Men” and “Kick-Ass” veteran Matthew Vaughn is being eyed to direct DC Films “Man of Steel 2.”

Released in 2013, produced by Christopher Nolan and directed by Zack Snyder, “Man Of Steel” earned $668 million at the global box office and launched the ambitious DC Cinematic Universe. Last summer’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which picked up where that film left off, has pulled in $873 million worldwide.

Cavill, who played Superman in “Man of Steel” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice,” will next be seen in 2017’s “Justice League.”
