A Fox News segment on Thanksgiving was cut short after guest Anna Paulina, director of Hispanic engagement at Turning Points USA, said that Hillary Clinton is “like herpes.”
“She won’t go away. She’s like herpes,” Paulina said.
The comment came as the show’s panel discussed Rudy Giuliani saying the former secretary of state should be investigated for using a private email server. Host Rick Leventhal looked momentarily shocked after Paulina’s comment.
“Um, OK, that’s news that we’re breaking here. Not appropriate,” Leventhal said.
Paulina’s STD quip momentarily derailed the show. She was taken off the air before Leventhal said they were wrapping up the segment “a little bit early because of the language that was used.” He added: “We apologize to our viewers for that.”
Fox News host Arthel Neville kept the apologies coming later in the show. “We want to reiterate that we do not condone the language that Anna Paulina just displayed here, and we apologize to Secretary Clinton for that. Fox News does not condone her sentiment. It’s Thanksgiving guys, lighten up. Come on!”
A Fox News rep, when reached by TheWrap on Friday, referred to the two previous on-air apologies.
Turning Points USA did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment on Paulina’s appearance.
