Hillary Clinton Offers Trump Some Serious Coronavirus Advice: ‘Quit Calling It a Hoax’ (Video)

“You really do have to listen to people who actually know something,” former secretary of state says on “The Tonight Show”

Former secretary of state Hillary Clinton paid a visit to “The Tonight Show” Wednesday, and she couldn’t resist ribbing host Jimmy Fallon just a bit before giving out some serious advice about the Coronavirus pandemic.

Fallon stifled a brief cough into his arm while posing the question to Clinton, who pretended to panic about being coughed on before letting out a howling giggle.

“I was clearing my throat! I promise,” Fallon laughed, covering his mouth with a stack of papers.

Then Clinton got down to business.

“What we know right now is that it’s a new kind of flu, and it’s serious because we don’t know much about it. We don’t know exactly how it’s transmitted, and apparently it’s pretty easy to transmit. We don’t have a vaccine yet for it like we do for the seasonal flu,” she said.

The former first lady couldn’t resist giving some motherly advice.

“I have to add, if you haven’t gotten a seasonal flu shot, get it now, because the best guessing by the experts is that it could slow down or help if the other virus comes in contact with it.”

Then Fallon asked Clinton whether she was surprised at how the Trump administration is handling the outbreak.

“I wish I could say I was surprised,” she said.

“This is something that you can’t just insult or pretend it’s a hoax, despite how hard he’s trying. You really do have to listen to people who actually know something. There’s a terrible shortage of testing kits. They need to make sure that state and local health departments and governors and mayors and others have the resources they need with hospitalization, so there’s a lot of work to be done.”

“If he would quit calling it a hoax and actually let the experts do their job, I think that’ll work out better,” she added.
