‘HIMYM’ Guys’ Pilot Halfway There at CBS; Coco Back in Biz With NBC (Updated)

PilotWatch 2010: Eye orders “Livin’ on a Prayer” as the pickups keep on coming

LATE TUESDAY UPDATE: NBC added two more projects to its 2010-11 slate, including one from Conan O’Brien’s Conaco shingle. Said Universal Media Studios chief (and NBC Entertainment president) Angela Bromstad to Coco: "We cool, bro. We cool."

Also, both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter are reporting a new project at ABC.

ORIGINAL POST:

If all goes perfectly, CBS may have just found a new 8:30 p.m. Monday comedy for next fall.

The network today confirmed that it’s snapped up "Livin’ on a Prayer," the spec script from the producers of "How I Met Your Mother" which went out to the networks over the weekend. CBS all but telegraphed its desire for the project Monday by giving an early season six renewal to "HIMYM."

While it’s hardly a lock the project will end up behind "HIMYM" on Mondays — it first needs to get a series greenlight, as well as find a title that doesn’t invoke a Bon Jovi song — the show appears to be a tonal fit for the slot. And the odds of "Accidentally on Purpose" returning next season on Monday nights in the fall appear slim, based on its so-so ratings and decided lack of buzz.
