History Orders Navy SEAL Military Drama ‘Six’

TCA 2016: Cable network also sets premiere date for “Join or Die With Craig Ferguson”

History has ordered to series “Six,” a fictionalized military drama inspired by SEAL Team Six, the unit that was responsible for the assassination of Osama bin Laden.

Written by William Broyles and military special operations veteran David Broyles, “Six” follows a squad of elite U.S. soldiers, Navy SEAL Team Six, whose 2014 mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover an American citizen working with the terrorists.

The network has greenlit an eight-episode season.

The series will be executive produced by William and David Broyles, Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Alfredo Barrios, Jr. and George W. Perkins. Bruce C. McKenna will serve as Executive Consultant, and join Barrios, William and David Broyles, and Karen Campbell in writing the episodes. Retired U.S. Navy SEAL Mitchell Hall will serve as the series’ technical adviser.

History has also set a premiere date for “Join or Die With Craig Ferguson.” It will premiere on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 11 p.m. ET.

On the half-hour show, Ferguson will debate topics with a panel of guests that will include celebrities and history experts, as well as the American public through social media.

Guests on the 22-episode season will include Judd Apatow, Jack Black, Julie Bowen, Courtney Cox, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, Jay Leno, Joel McHale and Elijah Wood.
