A star was born in Hollywood Tuesday night, as 28-eight-year-old Latina socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez became the apple of A-listers eyes after taking down 10-term incumbent Democrat Joe Crowley by a 15-point margin in New York’s 14th congressional district.

She is now on her way to becoming the youngest woman in Congress, and has already gained the support of stars like Cynthia Nixon, Ava DuVernay, Susan Sarandon and Chelsea Handler, who are more than here for Ocasio-Cortez’s victory.

“What a truly special night!” Nixon — who is currently running for governor of New York — tweeted Tuesday night, along with a picture of herself and Ocasio-Cortez. “Excited to have spent it with @Ocasio2018 celebrating her historic win.”

“F— yeah!” Sarandon wrote. “People over the Machine. Congrats @Ocasio2018 for proving that Democracy is possible. ??’???????’???????’?????”

“Waking up to this woman gives me a lot of hope for the future of our party and for the future of our country,” Handler tweeted.

Ocasio-Cortez, who, according to the Atlantic, was bartending and waiting tables in Manhattan to support her family less than a year ago, unseated the potential speaker of the House in an upset win, as Crowley hadn’t been challenged by a member of the Democratic party since 2004.
