Claire Danes Bolts CIA as ‘Homeland’ Season 5 Heads to Europe

“Carrie will no longer be an intelligence officer,” executive producer Alex Gansa says

“Homeland” season five will spring forward two and a half years from season four’s ending, executive producer Alex Gansa revealed Friday.

“We’re shooting in Germany,” executive producer Gansa said at PaleyFest Friday, according to TVLine. Last season’s show plot was set in Pakistan, but filmed in South Africa. At the end of the season, Carrie and her CIA team pulled out of Pakistan after a series of catastrophic events.

Gansa also dropped the big preview that Carrie’s character will be much different as the plot springs forward.

“Carrie will no longer be an intelligence officer,” he said. When asked what she’ll be doing, Claire Daines joked her character will be “making beer.”

Homeland’s season 5 premieres in September.
