‘Homeland’ Taps F. Murray Abraham for Recurring Role

F. Murray Abraham, who won an Oscar for "Amadeus," will play a CIA intelligence operative

F. Murray Abraham has signed on for a recurring role in the Showtime hit "Homeland," the network told TheWrap on Wednesday.

Getty ImagesAbraham, who landed an Oscar for his portrayal of Antonio Salieri in the 1984 film "Amadeus," will play Dar Adul, an intelligence operative who works in the Special Activities Division of the CIA.

Abraham recently had a two-episode run on the FX comedy "Louie," as the title character's curiously named relative, Uncle Excelsior. He also plays Cyril in the ABC pilot "Beauty and the Beast."

The second season of "Homeland" premieres Sept. 30.
