Does Bonnie Die in ‘HTGAWM’ Season 4 Finale? Creator Says ‘It Would Make Sense’

That car crash certainly didn’t suggest good things for Liza Weil’s character, now did it?

(Spoiler alert: Please do not read ahead unless you’ve watched through last Thursday’s episode of “How to Get Away with Murder.”)

Okay, “How to Get Away with Murder” fans. We know you are wondering if Bonnie Winterbottom (Liza Weil) is dead. It might be all you are thinking about right now. It might be the biggest mystery that has ever existed ever. (Okay, that’s a slight exaggeration). And “HTGAWM” creator Pete Nowalk says you will get the answer in tonight’s season 4 finale — it just may not be the one you’re hoping for.

“It would make sense for Bonnie to be dead,” Nowalk told reporters Wednesday, following an early screening of the episode. “She’s been worried about it for many episodes, and I think at the beginning of the season, the audience response I would get a lot is, ‘Screw Bonnie! She should have been the one burned in the house!’ Because anytime someone’s going against Annalise, people don’t like that. So it’s definitely set up that she’s dead. But is she? What’s good is the audience will find that out very early in the episode.”

In case you didn’t remember — but honestly, how could you forget — in last week’s episode, we saw a car crash that could most definitely lead to an untimely end for Bonnie. And we already know Nowalk is totally cool killing of main characters. (RIP Wes). So, hold your breath for a few more hours and hopefully when you exhale Bonnie is okay. Though we can’t make any promises.

The season 4 finale of “How to Get Away with Murder” airs tonight, Thursday, at 10 p.m. on ABC.
