Hugh Hefner is not amused that his ex-girlfriend Holly Madison is releasing a tell-all book about her time in the Playboy Mansion.
The retired Playmate and reality television star writes about orgies, drugs and her former lover’s controlling habits in her memoir “Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny.” Madison details the emotional and verbal abuse she faced while living in the house.
“I learned Hef was the manipulator and that he pitted us against one another,” she said.
In the book, she remembers her first time with Hefner as a “disconnected experience” that the other Bunnies had to watch.
“Much to my surprise, my turn was over as quickly as it started. By the time I was able to wrap my head around what was happening, Hef had already moved on to Candice [the other new Bunny], then to a few of his actual girlfriends before finishing off by himself, as he always did,” Madison wrote. “There was zero intimacy involved. No kissing, nothing. It was so brief that I can’t even recall what it felt like beyond having a heavy body on top of mine.”
Madison said the “nightmare” of living in the house was so traumatizing that she considered suicide at one point.
“I realized I wasn’t treated well,” Madison said. “I’m done being afraid of people. I don’t have any loyalty to Hef. I haven’t talked to him in four years, so there’s no reason to reach out now. Besides, it’s the truth.”
Hefner broke his silence by releasing a statement to the media that indirectly references his tension with Madison.
“Over the course of my life I’ve had more than my fair share of romantic relationships with wonderful women,” he said. “Many moved on to live happy, healthy, and productive lives, and I’m pleased to say remain dear friends today. Sadly, there are a few who have chosen to rewrite history in an attempt to stay in the spotlight. I guess, as the old saying goes: You can’t win ‘em all!”
Hefner has been married to another Playboy Playmate, Crystal Harris, since 2012.
His relationship with Madison and two other Playmates was captured on camera for the E! reality series, “The Girls Next Door,” which ended its six-season run in 2010.
