Hugh Laurie Joins Hulu ‘Catch-22’ Adaptation With George Clooney

Former “House” star will play Major de Coverley

Hugh Laurie has been cast alongside George Clooney in Hulu’s “Catch-22” adaptation, the streaming service said Tuesday.

The “House” alum will play Major de Coverley, a squadron executive officer on the Pianosa air base.

It was previously announced that “Girls” star Christopher Abbott will play the lead role of Yossarian, a bombardier for the U.S. Air Force during World War II who faces a constant struggle of serving in war and doing what he must in order to survive.

Executive producer George Clooney will co-star as Col. Cathcart in the adaptation of the classic 1961 novel by Joseph Heller.

Grant Heslov will executive produce with Clooney on behalf of Smokehouse Pictures, as will Richard Brown and Steve Golin on behalf of Anonymous Content. Co-writers Luke Davies and David Michôd are also executive producers.

Laurie is repped by WME and Christian Hodell.
